Example cost and time estimates

BOLO uses the user’s own OpenAI API key. This keeps the license cost low (from about $2.70 per user/month). Beyond the license fee, the school pays AI usage directly through its own OpenAI API key, with no BOLO markup. You only pay for AI when it is actually used, not a flat monthly subscription with included AI usage.

Quality control: not just “AI text”

BOLO does not work like a regular AI chat where each answer becomes a standalone piece of text. When you write a Book Brief, BOLO breaks it down into an internal production plan with outline, chapter goals, text volume, level, tone and recurring concepts. During production, the plan is used as a through-line, so each chapter continues the same project instead of starting over from scratch.
